Hi readers,
Basically, what is blog? A blog is a
personal diary posted by an individual or group of users on World Wide Web
(What’s a blog? n.d.). Blogs generally represent the personality of the author
or reflect the purpose of the Web site that hosts the blog. Topics sometimes
include brief philosophical musings, commentary on internet and other social
issues, and links to other sites the author favours, especially those that
support a point being made on a post. One of the example of blog website is
Blogger, since Blogger was launched in 1999, blogs have reshaped the web,
impacted politics, shaken up journalism, and enabled millions of people to have
a voice and connect with others (What’s a blog? n.d.).
For my web presence, I created this blog as part of my assignment-Web Communication 101 unit, and the blog topic is also my favourite. I named my blog as " The Chinese Art Paintings", as the readers will know what is my blog posting about. The reason why i chose this topic is because I want my readers to understand Chinese painting. I like drawing and colouring, I have completed set of colour tools since i was a kid, including the colour pencils, colour inks, brushes, water colours, poster colours and etc, everything i knew is just about Western painting style until Chinese Painting came into my live.
My first chinese painting class was in my 16, the reason why i learned chinese painting was because my friend asked me to join and i felt it's an easy painting, but then i regret, it's definately Not easy. Chinse painting is one of our culture, it requires intense focus and concentration, it's easy to learn but difficult to master it. Every stroke in chinese painting requires focus, which is how it stabilises our mood. Besides stabilising our mood, we will also start to be extremely sensitive to colours.
In my web presence, I decided to use blogspot as it is easier for me to manage my blog, like creating new post, designing the layout and the function are just in one-click button, whatever I want to presence in my blog I just add the application into the gadgets. What is more, it provides unlimited word and post for users to upload everything, even the numbers of video and picture.
Meanwhile, for my blog layout, I chose wrting-brush characters designed picture as my blog's background because it suits my topic- The Chinese Art Paintings, and it's simple as the reader sees my blog's background he/she will know the main topic of my blog. Furthermore, it is "Travel" template based, it makes the whole page looks tidy and clear, easier for viewers to read. All of the contents are in academic format as my blog is an informatics blog. Besides all this, I have also customized this blog in mobile based for mobile users, the layout of my blog for mobile are simple, with displaying a few sentences and topics, readers can easily find the weekly topic they interested and view it directly.
In this blog, I dicided to use Facebook, YouTube and Google as my three main contributing nodes, as well as the Twitter and Amazon.com as minor contributing nodes:
Facebook, As the most popular social networking service and website in the world, it provides the huge sharing platform for users to publish their post/blog (What is Facebook? n.d.). I am using Facebook as the sharing tool to share my blog with my friends, people can easily view it with just one-click and get attention on my new blog.
Google is the world's biggest internet searching machine, it provides many options for customized search (Willison, 2004). It is very useful as it helps me to search and gather the information that I want, most of my post informations are found from Google search. Besides, I had shared out my blog link in Google+ which has the same function as Facebook does.
YouTube is a video-sharing website, I used video which I found from YouTube to show readers how to paint Chinese painting, it's easier way for readers to understand the Chinese painting by viewing the video rather than just reading words.
Twitter as the most popular microblogging web service tools, I tweeted my blog on the Twitter to share with my friends, so that my friend can follow my blog in any time.
Amazon.com is a world's largest online retailer, it provides the largest online Art Gallery for Chinese art paintings, it's easier for Chinese paintings enthusiasts to find and collect the paintings on this website. Some of my pictures sample are found from here.

As a conclusion, this is a simple blog which can provide useful information and share with everyone who are interested in Chinese painting.
